Barry Myers Science Expo
Cool Science Experiments
The Senior boys were treated to the Magic of Science in a wonderful demonstration in the Theatre.
The amazing world of chemistry was made evident by the exciting experiments involving the power of fluorescence. A tiny spoonful of crystals added to water and lit with a fluorescent light created beautiful glowing liquids.
The demonstration continued with a bang, literally, as thunder and lightning were created indoors using direct current. Jacobs's ladder, a phenomenon that demonstrated that hot air rises, was displayed in a fiery spark that climbed between two rods as the air around it was heated.
The scientific principals that were displayed were amazing, but the most important thing was that the demonstration fostered an interest in Science and it was very good for the boys to see a scientist who is so passionate about his subject.
