Grade1 Buddy Reading Day

Today we launched our grade 1 and grade 7 "Buddy system." The grade seven boys were all allocated a grade one charge and today they read to them from books they had chosen.

Our aim with this first reading skills exercise was for the boys to get to know each other. The idea is that each Grade one boy will have an older "buddy" to protect and guide him.

Our buddy visits will be ongoing, with the boys becoming familiar with one another and in doing so, we hope to nurture a mutual interest and trust.
