Midmar 2011

On Friday the 11th of February, eight very excited boys got on one of the W.H.P.S busses and drove to Cordwalles in Pietermaritzburg, where we would stay for Midmar Mile.
On the way there, we stopped at Midlands Mall where we registered. When we arrived at Cordwalles, we settled down and ate supper.
After supper the boys played soccer with the borders of Cordwalles. The WHPS boys all believed that the teams were unfair, but Cordwalles didn't, so we just carried on playing. We then went off to swim in the pool.
The next morning the boys woke up, had breakfast and set off to Midmar dam. We all arrived, had a fun swim in the dam and then Mr Neilson showed us how to start the race.
We soon realised that we had to start soon, so we got our numbers on our arms and legs, got our caps and went to sit under our colour caps tents.
The boys then all started to get very nervous. After we heard the first starting pistol for our event, the WHPS boys all got ready to swim in the next four minutes. All of the boys had great swim and met at Boathouse 28 after the race.
When everyone finished and were together, we went to the bus, got dressed and started to spend some serious money.
After the day had passed, we went back to Cordwalles, got changed, had supper then had some more supper with the girls from DSG at the Midlands Mall.
We got back to Cordwalles had a much deserved sleep and woke up early the next morning and set off back to Pretoria.
Everyone had a truly wonderful time and the boys want to thank Mr Neilson and Ms Blackhall for coming with us and making this an experience to remember.
