My Camp

The Gr 5 camp was the best camp every.

Mrs T and Mrs Kleefstra took us to Mountain Life Sanctuary. We put up our own tents. We did not sleep at night. I was in a tent with Robert and Christopher Gous.

We went on a 4km hike in the mountains. The food was very nice there. We braaied our own meat. I made my own walking stick on the hike.

On the way back to school I played UNO with Ross Whitelaw and Jean Saunders. I kept on losing the games. When we arrived at school I was sad to leave camp but happy to see my Dad again.

GR 5 Camp

The GR 5's went to Mountain Sanctuary Park.

Mrs T and Mrs Kleefstra came with and stayed in a cabin. It took 2 hours to get there I sat at the back of the bus with Ross and Kyle.

When we got there we put up our tents I was with Ross and Kyle Van Aswegen. The guides names were Stevovo, Hanno, Otto and Jose.

There were baboons and monkeys all over the place. They were taking people's bags and their food. Our tent consists of two parts the one part is where we slept and the other part was where we put our bags. We had to bring our own plates, forks, knifes, spoons, drying cloth and wet cloth.

We were divided into four groups yellow, blue, red and green. I was in the red team.

W.H.P.S GR5 CAMP

The W.H.P.S gr 5 camp was the best camp ever.

We went to mountain sanctuary Park. Our marshal’s names were Stevovo, Hanno, Otto and Jose those were our marshals.

I was very hungry when we got off the bus. It was a very long bus drive it took two hours to get there. They showed us how to pitch our tents and we had to choose our two other mates in our tent. Then they show us were everything was.

Then they put us in teams the teams were yellow, red, blue and green and I was in the yellow team. I was happy because I had my friend Ross in our team.

Then we went to our event we had to get two eggs out a tree and all we had was rope a long log a short log and a tiny log and we had to work as a team. The eggs were not allowed to break and that was most of our camp.

Grade 5 camp

The grade fives went to Mountain Sanctuary Park for the best camp ever!

We swam in streams, climbed over rocks and pitched our own tents. Our camp master’s names were Hano, Oto, Jose and Stivovo.

We did activities like Get the egg, Kings Treasure and Zambizi crossing. The hike was amazing we saw all kinds of things like Buffalo Thorn and Baboons Tail.

The place looked like a desert! It was so hot and there were really big rocks. There were lots of baboons and vervet monkeys, they actually looked like us!

The swimming pool was very cold, that’s why I didn’t swim. For the activities we were put into three teams. Everyone got a bandana for their team and if you lost it you had to sing pop idol!

Mountain Sanctuary Park

At the grade five camp we went to Mountain Sanctuary.

We met the instructors the first one was called Jose the other one was called Otto the other two were called Hanno and Stevovo. They told us that we have to pitch our own tents and that we were sleeping in them. Once we were done we got to our stuff in our tents.

Then for some reason it was lunch time we had spaghetti then we had desert for some weird reason we had peaches. I was quite hungry because I didn’t eat on the bus so I ate my prego roll but only a bit then we had to go but we went to the pools. I liked the one part of the pool which was a bit deep which I loved. Then when we got back from the pool we got bandanas to show what team we were in.

I was in the blue team then we went to the first activity. The first activate we had to build a bridge across a stream it may have taken a while but in the end we built it. When we got back from the activaties it was time for tuck shop. Then after a while it was a supper time.

Then the next day we had breakfast and then we after breakfast we got changed. Then we went to our groups and did our activaties so then after a back breaking day it was time for tuck-shop again.

Then we when we had supper. Then we played a game called Pictionary it was kind of fun after that we had a shower and went to bed.

The next morning was sad because we were leaving we unpitched our tents. Then when the bus came I started to cry then Hunno gave me hug and a bit better so when we got on the bus I had one last look at the best camp ever.
