Construction started this week on our new addition to the music block!

Everyone is very excited and we will be taking pictures regularly to share with you how the building develops.

4 March 2010

As you can see the new building is going to be finished in no time! Every music staff member at WHPS is so excited – we can't wait…

The new building will have 4 practice rooms, orchestra/class music room and a soundproof drum room!! There will also be a staff room, store room and restrooms. It is situated to the left of the existing building and is basically a mirror image of what we currently have.

16 March 2010

We have a roof!! Well, half a roof. I must say, however, at the rate they are building this new addition to the music block we will have a complete roof by the end of the week!!

15 April 2010

During the two week break a lot has happened with our new music building! It is nearing completion and work has started on the inside. As you can see, the builders have started to tile the floor. We have told them what colour paint they must use and we are all so excited to see the finished product.

15 May 2010

The new music building is practically finished and it is beautiful! Here are some of the latest pictures for you to have a look at. Soon, the furniture will be arriving. The pianos are already here and waiting patiently to be moved into their new home.

19 July 2010 - The Final Product

At last the music department moved to the new building. How wonderful it is!

During the 5 week break for the World Cup, a lot of hard work went into getting everything ready for the new term. Final touches were done – pictures on the wall, scatter cushions in the reception area and many more. We can't be happier to be teaching in this new building. There is ample space for everyone, a lovely reception area for parents or children to wait for their lessons, an orchestra room second to none and a staff room where we can relax our tired feet at the end of the day.

Thank you so much to everyone involved in making this such a special time at WHPS.

The official opening of the building is on Friday 23 July 2010 and all parents are invited to attend.
