WHPS PA Camp Out: Back to basics was the best! 28 March 2009

The sun shone, the music jived and the boys had a wild, wet and whacky time! This year's WHPS PA Camp Out was a successful fun(d)raising day and one filled with fun for the entire family. With excitement ranging from enormous slides to a treasure hunt, from fireside sing-along to spontaneous games of cricket, boys and parents laughed and kuiered as only the WHPS family can.

Congratulations to the PA, the Family Forum and especially Lindy Wolter's Camp Out team for such a wonderful day.

Moms' Valentine's Tea: teacakes, roses and fishnets!

Ladies literally let their hair down at the spectacular Moms’ Valentine's Tea, held in the WHPS Theatre on 12 February at 9 am. Class reps had done a magnificent job of decorating tea tables, with styles ranging from the romantic, all roses and crystal, to the raunchy, with fishnets, wigs and cleavage all the way – go, Grade 7 moms!

Moms were treated to a delightful tea (or fragrant coffee, care of Philip Exter) and sparkling wine as befits such an occasion. There were cakes of all descriptions, cupcakes and otherwise, savoury tarts (no jokes, please) and beautiful platters of snacks.

Mr Herringer gave a suitably racy speech, while Honey sponsored some bling for lucky ladies. Each mom also received a special "happiness bag" and chocolates.

Thanks to Dessie Papavarnavas and members of the PA, as well as the class reps for such a delightful morning.

WHPS PA Combined Cocktail Party: a sparkling evening!

WHPS Theatre witnessed a sparkling evening on 29 January when WHPS parents, council and teachers enjoyed a glamorous cocktail party to kick off 2009.

The headmaster, Doran Herringer, welcomed the guests, while Lloyd Davies, PA Chairman, briefed everyone on PA activities of the past year and events planned.

Lloyd introduced the PA theme for this year as Fund-raising, with events including the Moms' Valentine's Tea on 12 February and the ever popular Camp Out, on 28 March.

Matron Angela provided a magnificent spread, the wine flowed and conversation was glittering. Thanks to WHPS and the PA in particular for a special evening.
