WHPS School Council

Reminder

WHPS 90th Anniversary Celebration

24 - 26 May 2013

Founded in 1923, Waterkloof House Praparatory School was run as a private concern for many years. However, headmaster, Wilf MacRobert, decided in 1964 to create a School Trust, which would take over the running and management of this private school for boys. Thus the first School Council was born.

The School Council's function is to govern, manage and administer the School in accordance with its objectives and within the parameters of the Council's Constitution, as well as to assist the headmaster. All financial and project decisions are first made by the Executive Committee and once agreed upon by this body, such decisions are tabled with the full Council members for their approval. The Council is also responsible for the appointment of the headmaster and the bursar.

The Executive Committee meets with the headmaster on a monthly basis and one full Council meeting is held every term. Should a member of the parent body wish to approach the Council with any queries or concerns they should contact the Chairman of the PA, Lloyd Davis, who is their representative on Council.

The Council is a committed and dedicated group of people who have the School's best interests at heart, who give their time generously to better the School and to ensure a secure future for generations of WHPSians to come.
