WHPS School CouncilFounded in 1923, Waterkloof House Praparatory School was run as a private concern for many years. However, headmaster, Wilf MacRobert, decided in 1964 to create a School Trust, which would take over the running and management of this private school for boys. Thus the first School Council was born. The School Council’s function is to govern, manage and administer the School in accordance with its objectives and within the parameters of the Council’s Constitution, as well as to assist the headmaster. All financial and project decisions are first made by the Executive Committee and once agreed upon by this body, such decisions are tabled with the full Council members for their approval. The Council is also responsible for the appointment of the headmaster and the bursar. There are a number of portfolios assigned to the WHPS Council, namely: Chairman of Council : Mr Tiny Barnetson Vice Chairman : Mr Dave Sawyer Councillors Emeritus : Adv Francois Junod / Mr Rusty Gillett / Mr Dave Marshall Trust Representatives : Mr Tiny Barnetson / Mr David Chamberlain / Mr Neil Smith Co-opted Members : Mr Rob Buckley (Sport) Mr Gordon Richards (IT) Mr Peter Papadopoulo (Legal Representative) Mr David Chamberlain (Finance Committee) Headmaster : Mr Doran Herringer Deputy Headmaster : Mr Rob Nielson Bursar : Mrs Joanet Bolton Nominated Educationalist : Mr Bill Schroder (Headmaster - Pretoria Boys' High School) Clergyman : Ven Tim Lowes Senior Primary HoD : Mrs Brigitte Theunissen Junior Primary HoD : Mrs Elaine Cornish Business person : Mr John Godrich PA Chairman : Mr Lloyd Davis Elected PA Members : Mrs Sarah le Roux / Mrs Sheri Valente / Mr Chris Nteta / Elected Members of the Old Boys Association : Mr Gordon Delaney / Mr Paul Head / The Executive Committee meets with the headmaster on a monthly basis and one full Council meeting is held every term. The Council is a committed and dedicated group of people who have the School's best interests at heart, who give their time generously to better the School
and to ensure a secure future for generations of WHPSians to come.
