WHPS Becoming Energy Wise

As part of our ongoing ECO EDUCATION programme the Grade 5-7 boys have been researching ways for our school to become more energy wise.

We have a team of 'eco-warriors' who go to the classes to remind staff and boys to turn off unnecessary lights and heaters.

The Grade 6 and 7 boys completed an energy audit where they worked out the costs involved in the use of electrical appliances at WHPS. They put forward a proposal on how to go about reducing these costs.
One example was replacing all globes with energy saving globes.

As a reward for their hard work and enthusiasm the boys received orange 'energy saving' shoelaces which they wore for a week in their school shoes.

Bliss does not come from outside. It comes from inside, from serving the people.
