WHPS – Real Life 4 Kids Auction
Real Life 4 Kids - The game is ‘hotting’ up with the much awaited auction which took place on Thursday, 18 and Friday 19 June 2020. The WHPS Grade 6 boys were both excited and nervous about how much money they were going to bid for their desired piece of land.

WHPS – Keeping Up With The Sport Department
WHPS - Keeping Up With The Sport Department
Over the past few weeks it has been wonderful to welcome more grades back on to the WHPS campus. It has been particularly enjoyable to see Herringer and Pops Fields full of boys involved in some sort of physical activity, albeit very different to the normal lessons they would have had.

WHPS – Checking In With The Junior Prep
WHPS - Checking in with the Junior Prep.
How exciting it has been to have our boys back at school. It was so wonderful to see our JP boys walk through the WHPS gates last week and greet the teachers with great big smiles (under their masks).

Habit #5 – Think Interdependently
Habit #5 - Think Interdependently Being able to work and learn from others in reciprocal situations, team- work. "Take care of each other. Share your energies with the group. No one must feel alone, cut off, for that is when you do not make it." - Willie Unsoeld

WHPS – Checking In With The Senior Prep
WHPS - Checking in with the Senior Prep.
It’s been an interesting couple of months at WHPS, going from a hustle and bustle, busy and happy school to a campus which was eerily quiet. Thankfully we have still managed to maintain some contact with the boys via Zoom lessons and clips and photos they have shared on Seesaw.

Certainty in Uncertain Times
Certainty in Uncertain Times. When life's storms roar, sometimes it can seem the only certainty is uncertainty.
I hear "everything is just so uncertain" multiple times every day, people seem to be even more focussed on the uncertainty of the future. It is interesting to note that the future has ALWAYS been uncertain. The reality is that we never know what is going to happen tomorrow… we just think we do. In January this year, you probably felt certain what your life would look like today. You were wrong.

Art Is Still Alive At WHPS
In times of chaos, creating Art is like catharsis. A time to let yourself be free, to relax with moments of quiet in which you have the chance to absorb and lose yourself in the process of Art Making.

We Are Proud Of Our Whippets
We are proud of our Whippets.
The Whippets Department is a very special place, filled with chatter, hugs, giggles and children running outside. The last few weeks have been very quiet without our Whippets.

PRECIOUS PEOPLE
"I thank my God every time I remember you." - Philippians 1:3
Take some time to remember and treasure the precious people in your life.

Habit #11 Be Creative, Imagine and Innovate
Be Creative, imagine and innovate. All human beings have the capacity to generate novel, original, clever or ingenious products, solutions, and techniques - if that capacity is developed. Creative human beings try to conceive problem solutions differently, examining alternative possibilities from many angles.

STEM, STEAM – We Are All Makers
STEM, STEAM - We are all makers. I think everybody has heard something similar to ‘ 85% of jobs that will exist in 2030 have not been invented yet.’

We Are Proud Of Our Junior Prep Boys
We are proud of our Junior Prep boys.
The teachers in the Junior department are truly grateful and blown away by the positive feedback from the boys and their parents with regard to online learning. It is most gratifying to see the uploaded photos and videos of the boys in action, carrying out their online tasks with such enthusiasm.

WHPS Tutorial Video – The New Back to School (video)
WHPS Tutorial Video - The New Back to School
We hope that this video will help you in terms of what to expect and how to best prepare your son for his return to school. Please take some time to watch this video with your son and talk to him about what to expect when he arrives at school for the first time since the 18th of March 2020. School is going to be completely different and we all need to be prepared for these changes. It is important to remain positive and supportive during this time.

Keeping up with the WHPS Sports Department
It has been a very different experience for the sports department, as we are used to seeing the fields, courts and turfs filled with excited children practising and enjoying the chosen sport on offer. We would have been in the middle of rugby season now, and I miss so many things about it. I miss hearing the crunching of the studs on the bricks, when the boys are coming from their classrooms to the fields. I miss the sounds of whistles, as the coaches put the boys through their paces. I miss the grunting and groaning from the boys during a tough fitness session. I miss seeing the boys kicking for poles at every opportunity they get.
